The session that made me want a fourth child..

...but that idea was quickly shot down by my husband :)
I LOVE big families, especially now that I have a semi-large group myself. I know it's not easy (as of right now, my oldest child has strep and my baby girl has strep and a stomach bug) but I absolutely love the chaos of a large family. I kept telling Mom that but I don't think she believed me as the kids ran around us; but I loved every minute of it. To me the more chaos, the more love and fun and friendship, and that is what life is all about!
Big brother: Big sister:
Precious younger sister:
And baby:
As I mentioned above my kids are very sick and I am unabable to get much work done, but hopefully we are now on the rebound. The doctor yesterday said they had seen a ton of strep and viruses the last two weeks so if your kids are in school, look out!

Playtime!!

First of all, I have a new way for clients to contact me- the wonderful world of IM! These days with the gaggle of children I have running around my house, I sometimes do not answer the phone because of all the noise and chaos here. IM is a great way to talk to me live and get your questions answered quickly, without all the background noise. Just add devinememories@hotmail.com to your MSN Messenger contact list and if I'm available, you can ask away!

I know I've talked about having the best job in the whole world. If this set of pictures doesn't prove it I don't know what would. I get to go to work and talk to 2 year olds and hear their views of the world--this little firecracker had me CRACKING UP and I got to play all morning. Not to rub it in but as some of my little clients would say, "Nah nah nah booo booo!"
Blowing me kisses... Calling Daddy to tell him about our little photoshoot
Reading to me and Mommy her favorite bedtime stories
Hugging Mr. Frog
And talking to her new baby sister, who will make her Devine Memories debut in December!!

Can't resist

....sharing this little one with you guys, from the Fountain Sessions this weekend.

I had such a blast and am possibly interested in adding a second date. If you would be interested in doing fountain sessions and couldn't make this weekend, email or call me and if there is enough interest I will add an additional day.

Also keep the questions coming for the Q&A as my next blog will answer your latest questions about photography, etc.
Checking it all out... bathing suit is from Little Heiress
Doesn't she remind you of a classic movie star??

Conked out

Usually, this is what kids look like when I LEAVE their home...instead, this is what I found when I arrived:

But quickly she woke up and hit the ground RUN-ning...which is amazing to me considering that the last time I saw her, she was just 2 weeks old.
And before I knew it, we were dancing on our tippy toes around the house.

Oh the pressure

So many people waiting on sneak peaks in the blog right now...here's the first in line :)

I don't think I need to point out that this is an absolutely beautiful family. And I promise, H&P, that I am not just saying that because you've been waiting for these!!

This little princess took a little bit to warm up to the idea of picture taking, or maybe she was daydreaming about her big nap...but once we got going, it was pure perfection! Au Naturale...
She got into it and started making the greatest faces at me!

See you guys soon.

Sisters

I am at a complete loss for words after proofing some of this session, and I just had to share. These girls travel from out of town every now and then to see me, and everytime I sware they get cuter. And talk about PERSONALITY. I almost couldn't shoot because of my not being able to stop laughing. Mom's got her hands full now---but in just a few months, they will go from a family of 4 to a family of 6 when they welcome twins into their home. I am so excited for them but even MORE excited because I will be in the delivery room to capture the birth!!

It was little sister's turn, but big sister wanted in....and little sis DID NOT LIKE IT!
Really, I wish they would have come out of their shells...so shy. ;-)
Here they are with Mommy-doesn't she look radiant?

PLEASE don't forget to send in your nominations for the Emily project before the month is up!

A First

First of all, I have to say I am overwhelmed by the response I've received to my last post. Hopefully I've answered all your emails, and I've decided to do a similar q&a every few weeks-so keep sending in those questions and I'll answer them here!

Here is my first: Very first shot of the day, and it's my favorite. It's a great thing when you feel like you won't be able to narrow a whole shoot down to just 30 or so pictures. This is how the whole day went...everytime I pressed the shutter, I knew that THAT one was a keeper, the best. All 400 times. She just made it WAY too easy.

And here it is, the first shot of the day:
These were all done on an overcast day on a back patio with an 85mm lens.

The curls, the eyes...

All I can say is...what a cyooooootie!!!!

Now I have a special place in my heart for this little gal because she is the daughter of the very best 2nd grade teacher in the world (and my son is a star student so I'm not just kissing up), and as soon as I laid my eyes on the blonde angelic curls and those ginormous blue eyes, I begged her Mommy to let me get a hold of her :) We had the best little playdate; oh to have half the energy of a one year old!!!

Mrs. F, you have made my son's life happy and fun this year and there aren't a million pictures in the world that could thank you enough for that.
